Millionaire Mentors Share Their Wisdom
The process of creating and attracting money is actually a process of personal growth.
But, being a regular reader of the Rich Radiant Real blog, you already knew that, didn’t you?!
The million-dollar journey can be long and winding (if we choose it to be), but if we’re smart, we’ll follow the guidance of others who have gone before us. We’ll learn and apply some of their shortcuts, all while knowing that it’s OUR journey and we will still make ‘mistakes’.
I recently came across a phenomenal series of books called ‘The Millionaire Books’. These books follow the stories of ordinary Australians who have ‘created extraordinary lives for themselves and their families’.
One of my colleagues, Luanne Simmons of Goddess of Purpose, is featured in the Millionaire Motivators book.
I’ve loved reading this particular book (I’ve yet to try the others), because it chronicles the journey of each millionaire in their own words, giving us the ‘warts and all’ version of what they experienced along their journey, along with heaps of wisdom and guidance.
Do you know, a regular habit that cropped up frequently throughout the stories was that of people using vision boards and affirmations. See! They really work!
I think I’ll read the ‘Ms Millionaire’ book next – how about you? Do you spot any that pique your interest from The Millionaire Books’ series?
It’s so exciting to share finds like these with you. Hope you like this series!
Mirror Work for Children

When I attended the I Can Do It! Melbourne Hay House event last year, I was reminded about the power of mirror work, by the inventor of this powerful process, the inimitable Louise Hay.
The process involves looking at yourself in a mirror, looking deep into your eyes, and telling yourself that you really, really love yourself.
It helps you to begin loving yourself and is wonderful for building feelings of self-worth. (For more detail about the process, I suggest investing in the wonderful You Can Trust Your Life DVD set, where Louise demonstrates how to ‘do’ mirror work. It’s a recording of an event held by Louise and by Cheryl Richardson in London and it’s entertaining and engaging, while being intensely profound.)
I thought that it would be great for my girls to start mirror work at a young age, so that they grow up knowing that loving yourself is the foundation of happiness.
So, for their recent 10th birthdays, I gave them each a ‘Best Friend Mirror’.
I kept an eye out for pretty compact mirrors (I eventually found these pink rose mirrors at Lark online, but they don’t seem to sell them now) and made my own insert for them, explaining what they are and how to use them. I really wanted them to know that they can rely on themselves to be their own best friend, by truly accepting and loving themselves.

The insert says: ‘Best Friend Mirror – If you choose, you can use this mirror so that you can become your own best friend. Simply look deep into your eyes and say, ‘I love you, [insert child's name here]. I really, really love you.’
The girls think they’re great, and they keep them on their bedside tables.
I thought I’d let you know about this cute gift idea – if you have a young person in your midst, a gift like this might be something that could help them create a foundation of strong self-worth (a gift that would ‘keep on giving’ over the course of their lives!).
Perhaps this could be the perfect Valentine’s gift for someone you care about? Perhaps even for… yourself?
Do You Have a ‘Grand Design’ for Your Life?

…or do you just kind of ‘amble along’, or ‘go with the flow’?
There’s nothing wrong with ambling or flowing. In fact, there’s nothing better than being ‘in flow’.
But what if the flow you’ve been in is a result of subconscious beliefs that were implanted many moons and generations ago? What if those beliefs led you to take actions that have now created a life that, in some or many aspects, doesn’t feel authentic or satisfying?
That particular flow isn’t so good, is it?
Sometimes you need to be a little more intentional and structured. To think of yourself as the architect of your life.
Hold on a sec. I can just feel some of you squirming in the glow of your computer screen.
‘I hate structure!’ I hear you cry.
Or perhaps you’re secretly thinking:
‘Nothing I plan ever works out anyway, so why would I set myself up for disappointment?’
Both of these statements are affirmations, by the way… meaning that if you tell yourself these things over and over, you’re creating those outcomes in your reality. (Bonus tip: it’s also best to eliminate the word ‘hate’ from your vocab.)
I’m not suggesting that you restrict yourself. Not at all. However, I AM suggesting that the word ‘intentional’ becomes your new favourite word and approach to life.
Once you’ve made a decision about the direction you want your life to head, it becomes easier and easier to get ‘in the flow’ of a life that you actually want to live.
But for those of you who feel that you’d be locking yourself into a fixed, stultifying and claustrophobic plan, then just know that, as I tell my clients, the plans that you make now don’t have to be forever, and they can be changed.
Nothing is set in stone. It’s all flexible and fluid, but starting from where you are now, with what you have and with what you can imagine being possible in your foreseeable future, means you’ll be setting your compass direction intentionally onto ‘my delicious life’ instead of ‘my life of dissatisfaction and disappointment’.
Being the designer of your life is actually exciting! You’re at the helm. You get to choose!
And, as I mentioned in last month’s feature article, starting with baby steps is a great way to avoid potential overwhelm, and to give you the confidence that helps you believe you can create even greater things.
So, are you ready to create your very own ‘grand design’? To create a life that YOU love, and that is so deeply authentic and so very ‘you’ that you want to hug yourself with delight every morning upon waking?
Then I can help. After my children’s school vacation completes (next week), I’ll be inviting my subscribers to discover whether spending a day with me in a ‘Create Your Dream Life’ VIP Day is right for them.
A day of dreaming big, exploring exciting possibilities and getting clear on your next steps for making those dreams become your reality.
In person or on the phone. Just me, you, and your dreams.
If this sounds thoroughly scrumptious, and your soul is squealing with excitement, head here to register.
Imagine a life that flows towards what it is that you really want. Let’s get started on your grand design!
Getting Your Subconscious on Side!
Did you know that 97% of the actions we take are dictated by our subconscious mind?
Isn’t that crazy?
So even if we make a conscious decision to do something, we only have a 3% chance of ‘making’ that something happen.
Our subconscious really has to be on board in order to get what we want!
I’ve often heard it said that we should be at war with our subconscious, squashing those old beliefs and forcing new ones over the top. Well, that might work, but there is a better way.
In the above video interview with Dr Cathy Collautt (a metaphysician and manifesting consultant), business coach Marie Forleo finds out how we can access the wisdom inherent in our subconscious, and then gently influence it to be on our side. I agree with Dr Collautt’s belief that our subconscious is trying to protect us, and we should thank it for doing so!
You’ll love this video – and if you want more of Marie’s amazing energy and insights, head here to sign up for her free ezine and notifications of these inspiring videos.

My Top 7 Takeaways from ‘I Can Do It!’
A couple of weeks ago I attended the Melbourne edition of the Hay House I Can Do It! conference. I love immersing myself in positive, expansive experiences, and being with other people who share my outlook on life.
I’ve been letting the lessons from the presenters (who are some of the world’s top spiritual teachers) seep deep into my subconscious and soul, and now I’d love to share with you my seven top ‘takeaways’ from the event.
I am a huge fan of sharing new things that I’ve learned, and also of sharing the ‘reminders’ that I received about things I already knew.
I scribbled notes during the entire event, working in almost a trance-like state of concentration while I absorbed the messages and wrote the words that I knew I’d want to reflect on, and share, later. (Peak success coach Jack Canfield takes copious notes at every event that he attends – he’s a voracious ongoing learner!) As Louise Hay herself said at the event, ‘I’m a committed student; life is a continual adventure’.
But, I digress. Here are my ‘top seven takeaways’. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
1. Thank Your Bed
Louise Hay, the queen of affirmations, starts her day by thanking her bed, which makes her smile. She really, really appreciates the warmth, cosiness and comfort she has experienced overnight, and starting her day in this way means she starts a cascade of good feelings that help attract even more good into her life.
(Oh, and here’s a bonus tip. Louise also often states this affirmation: ’Life Loves Me’. Isn’t that beautiful? It helps attract good experiences, and means that no matter what happens, you feel protected and loved, and guided to what is best for you.)
2. Don’t Complain, Rush, Gossip or Create Drama
Life coach extraordinaire Cheryl Richardson reminded us that these negative activities create ‘an unhealthy, unsustainable form of energy’. They give you a shot of adrenaline, but they sure don’t serve you or anyone else. She says that avoiding these activities means that you’ll be creating what others want – ‘a high-quality life’ – and that you’ll be showing them that it’s possible.
3. Know that There is Nothing Wrong with You
Robert Holden, the author of Shift Happens: How to Live an Inspired Life…Starting Right Now!, says ’The final (and only) act of healing is to accept that there is nothing wrong with you’. ‘When you accept yourself, your whole life improves.’ He says that we need to meet regularly with our ‘unconditioned self’, the pure essence of the real you, which is perfect just as it is.
4. What You Think, Say and Do has Got to be One
Suze Orman, author of Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny, says that living in integrity is so important. She says ‘be in the truth with every single thing you do’. In her early days she used to affirm the following to herself, so that she began to be and become this person: ‘I am young, powerful and successful and making at least $10,000 a month’. She said this 25 times when she got up, then she wrote it down 25 times during the day, and said it in the mirror 25 times before bed. And so it came to pass that her belief, words and actions took her to her goal – and waaaaay beyond. (As she said on stage: ‘You are looking at a seriously wealthy woman’!)
5. Use Positive Language at all Times
Doreen Virtue says to use ’Angel Words’ (see Angel Words: Visual Evidence of How Words Can Be Angels in Your Life for more) – when measured on audio equipment, words that are universally agreed to have negative connotations show up as very dense, closed graphics. Positive words, however, such as peace and love, create larger, expansive graphics. Giving out a more-positive vibration in the form of the words we speak (and the energy they generate) has a profound effect on what we experience. Truly fascinating stuff, and it’s made me even more mindful of the language I use!
6. It Takes Imagination + Action to Make Dreams Become Real
Wow. Don Miguel Ruiz was amazing, and spoke so many words of wisdom. He says that we’re at a new beginning for all of humanity, and that it’s crucial to realise that WE make our dreams come true – all humans are really angels, and our wings are really our imagination. He says ‘Our greatest story is the creation of our lives’. Beautiful!
7. We are all Ambassadors of God
Neale Donald Walshe says we are all ‘God in miniature’ or ’divinity personified’. Knowing this means that we can bring light into the world with assurance and courage. We’re being called to step into spiritual leadership at this time, by ‘going first’, not by saying ‘follow me’.
I hope these messages have lifted you! If you haven’t ever attended a conference like this, I’d highly recommend doing whatever it takes to get yourself to one. There’s nothing like soaking up spiritual wisdom in a loving, safe space, and being able to transform your life from that time on.
Mwuh!

10 Ways to Create a Sparkly Christmas

If you’ve found yourself feeling a bit ‘over’ Christmas in recent years, going through the motions with no real joy, then it’s time to ‘sparkle’ things up a bit!
How do I define ‘sparkly’? Well, for me, it means seeing Christmas as the embodiment of all that it is good in the world. Connecting with people you love, and really celebrating life and beauty. A time when all that glitters really is gold!
Here are a few ideas for adding celebration and sparkle to your Christmas. I’ve either ‘done’ these myself, or plan to. Please don’t feel overwhelmed by this list – if you spot a couple of ideas that really resonate with you, why not just give those ones a try this Christmas?
1. Create a beautiful, welcoming wreath for your front door or the inside of your home.
2. Create personalised Christmas cards. We’ve done this every year since our girls were one year old, because I thought it would be easier to have one card that included a photo update of our children, rather than printing and sending photos with conventional cards.
Until last year, I had our DL-sized cards designed and printed at Snap, but last year I created my own and will have fun doing that again this year! I love taking the photos of our girls for these cards – they have a lot of fun!
Here’s a scan of our family Christmas card from a few years ago:

If you live in the US, Pinhole Press has a fantastic range of beautifully designed templates that can be personalised with your photos.
3. Help out at a food shelter – bring your family on board. If you can’t help out in person, perhaps donate some food, or consider donating to Oxfam via its Unwrapped Christmas-gift project.
4. Remember the power of intention, and create an affirmation that helps you attract the type of Christmas you’d love to have (for help with creating affirmations, check out the Affirmations: Your How-to Guide PDF bonus when you invest in Dream Life Affirmations audios.
5. Make a set of special, long-lasting decorations that can become family heirlooms (perhaps some Santa tree ornaments or napkin holders?!).
6. Take healthy sweet treats around to your neighbours on Christmas Eve, beautifully packaged – you could make the White Christmas recipe in this month’s ezine, or check out the recipe for decadent Orange-Choc Bliss Balls in Monkey Mike’s Raw Food Kitchen: An Un-Cookbook for Kids.
7. Watch a suitably Christmassy movie such as the original Miracle on 34th Street, or the Christmas scene from Mr Bean’s Christmas! (And then there’s always Love, Actually.)
8. Add a bitta ‘bling’ to your life with sparkly decorations in your home and office. There’s something so special about glitteriness. Just remember that ‘sparkly’ can be tastefully done (tinsel doesn’t have to feature, if that ain’t your thing). Candlelight makes everything shimmer – and what about adding sparkle to your clothing? Check this out for inspiration!
9. Pretend you’re a child again, and put out a stocking at the end of your bed.
10. Create your own Christmas crackers. We did this for the first time last year, and it was so much fun.
We (my children and I) bought the inner tubes and cracker snaps from Riot, and we filled the crackers with a cracker snap, a wrapped Lindor chocolate ball, a handwritten Christmas joke, and a handmade paper crown. We then wrapped them in tissue paper, tied ribbons on the end, and put a small photo of the recipient on the front of the cracker!
Note: don’t make the tissue paper wrapping too thick. We did, and it was a little difficult to rip the crackers open…
Oh, a bonus tip – if you’re a ‘planner’, like me, you’ll love Alison May’s Brocante Home Christmas Planner, which features heaps of inspiration and dozens of checklists.
I hope this list has inspired you – and if you were feeling a bit jaded about the whole thing, I do hope that it’s reignited your Christmas spirit!
PS I’d love to hear what you love about Christmas – what traditions do you love to repeat every year? What new tradition/s would you like to start? Leave a comment and let me know!
Dream Life Affirmations are Here!

Do you realise the power of your thoughts?
Just reflect for a moment. What are your dominant thoughts? Do you tend to be positive and optimistic, or fearful and pessimistic? Or perhaps you’re a mix of the two, depending?
Many of us have old ‘tapes’ running in our head, from our past, that limit the actions we take today. Those same thoughts also affect the way we feel, which determines the type of vibration we emit.
Why not give yourself a great chance of creating a *dream life* future by starting to change your predominant thoughts?
It’s easy to do this with affirmations. They’re just one tool in implementing change, but they’re a very powerful tool.
Today, I’ve launched a beautiful affirmations product called Dream Life Affirmations.
I could tell you more about this here, but why not head over to the information page to discover more?
For one week only, you can invest in these life-changing affirmations at a very special rate, so head over there now to snap up yours!
By the way, you ARE allowed to even consider having a *dream life*. Did you come down to earth to live a not-dream life? Didn’t think so! So what are you waiting for?
What Do You Think About Affirmations?

I really want to know!
Do you think affirmations work?
Do you have a favourite affirmation that you repeat to yourself?
Or do you think it’s all a crock, and that affirmations really do not work? (Have you tried them and been disappointed?)
Let me know what you think, in the comments below.
Your Personal Environment – It Matters!

If a seed is grown in optimal conditions, it will grow to its full potential, and flourish.
Now, imagine that you are a seed. If you plant yourself in suboptimal conditions, you simply won’t reach the potential that is latent within you.
And that would be a shame.
We may not have been responsible for the conditions in which we were raised (when we were ‘seedlings’, so to speak), but as adults we are now responsible for our personal environment and for our growth. Completely and utterly.
This is liberating and empowering, but it’s potentially scary, too.
So, what’s your environment like? Are you nurturing yourself and your dreams? Is your environment set up to support you?
Or do you feel overwhelmed and negative a lot of the time?
You don’t need me to tell you that in order for the law of attraction to bring wonderful stuff into your life, you need to be sending out a positive vibration. Honey, it’s universal law.
So, if your personal environment could do with a little love, here are five fabulous ways to create a nurturing environment that supports and inspires you.
Read
Become a sponge for personal development information. Have life-transforming books as your bedside reading. (Catch a glimpse of my most recent bedtime reading here.)
Affirm
Listen to affirmations audios while you exercise or do jobs around the house (my Dream Life Affirmations audios are perfect for this). Also, write down your favourite affirmations and have them in easy view throughout your day. This helps build fresh neural pathways that affirm beliefs you’d like to have!
Go Mobile
Create a mobile personal development library by playing positive audios and CDs in your car (the aforementioned Dream Life Affirmations are a starting point, or try this phenomenal audio program).
Get Coached
Even if you aren’t yet ready to invest in personal, one-on-one coaching, I’d advise being part of a group-coaching program. Get yourself coached in any way that you can, but remember that you’ll get the very best from coaching when you invest money in it – if you receive free coaching, you’re not as likely to give it all that you’ve got. Sometimes you’ve just got to invest, in order to reap the harvest.
Connect with Your Tribe
Do your family and current friends not understand why you’re changing or why you’re trying to ‘think positive’? Then shore yourself up by connecting regularly with people who share your values and beliefs. You can do this in many ways, but a highly accessible way is to participate in online forums with positive people – for example, see my blog post about Jack Canfield’s Inner Circle membership club, where you can connect with like-minded people in the club’s forum.
So, there you have it. Five high-quality ways to support yourself in creating a life you love!
Remember, we all have the chance to ‘bloom where we’re planted’. As an adult, you get to choose your thoughts, your beliefs and the influences you allow into your life.
Are you going to allow yourself to bloom into your full magnificence? (I believe in you. I know you can do it, with the right environment!)
