Fruit & Nut Choc Eggs

Fruit & Nut Choc Eggs

I shared this recipe in my ezine last Easter, and I thought I’d share it with you here, so that you have a healthy alternative to conventional chocolate eggs this Easter!

Unfortunately, most conventional chocolates are chock-full of sugar, milk compounds and emulsifiers – do yourself a huge favour this Easter by making these sweet chocolatey treats from natural, health-giving ingredients. They’re still an indulgence, but I guarantee you’ll feel better!

Remember… the higher your vibration (through good health and eating living foods), the higher your power for attracting all of life’s good things.

Ingredients

1 cup coconut oil

40–50g raw cacao (chocolate) powder

1½–2 tablespoons dark agave nectar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ cup sultanas

¼ cup cashews, finely chopped

Method

1. Place the coconut oil in a medium-sized bowl. If it’s cold at your house and the oil has turned hard in the jar (becoming coconut butter), place the jar in a pitcher full of hot water. If this fails to melt the oil, scoop out spoonsful of the coconut butter and melt it gently and slowly in a saucepan over low heat. It should definitely be liquid, without lumps.

2. Add the cacao powder, agave nectar and vanilla extract to the coconut oil, whisking until combined.

3. Add the sultanas and finely chopped cashews to the mix, whisking well.

4. Use a teaspoon to gather up a good distribution of the chocolate-coconut liquid, fruit and nuts, and tip carefully into mini half-egg moulds.

5. Chill for at least 3 hours in the fridge, or for at least 1½ hours in the freezer.

6. Carefully tip the egg halves out of their moulds, and serve while chilled.

If you wish to make whole eggs, you can place the back of the eggs on a very hot plate to melt the chocolate a little, and then press two halves together to form one egg. However, half-eggs are just the right size to pop easily into your mouth…

Bonus tip: for extra juicy sultanas, soak them in water (or orange juice – yum!) for at least an hour before adding to the mix. Make sure you drain the sultanas well.

Hello there! It’s another beautiful day here on planet Earth… and how is this day going to pan out for you?

In my experience, if you can slowly work towards raising your vibration every day, ‘the good stuff’ starts appearing more and more frequently, in the most delightful of ways. I am living proof of that, and so are you!

I have a few tools on hand for raising MY vibration, and one of those tools is listening to affirmations (usually on my iPod while I do things around the house, or in the car on the way to school pick-up) and having them in sight so that I can read and absorb their beautiful messages.

Because I know how much power affirmations have, I created an inspirational affirmations product for you (featuring MP3 audios and written-out affirmations) – and I also use it myself!

If you don’t already have my Dream Life Affirmations, then I thought I’d share a little sneak peek into what you’ll receive.

I divided the affirmations in three aspects of life – Rich, Radiant and Real (wealth, health and authentic happiness) – and below are examples from each category. These images are taken directly from the PDF that you’ll receive.

A ‘rich’ affirmation for wealth-attraction:

Affirmation

Ooh, that one feels good, doesn’t it?!

Here’s an uplifting example of a ‘radiant’ affirmation:

Affirmation 2

That one really helps you feel anticipation about choosing scrumptious, life-giving foods.

And here’s a ‘real’ affirmation:

Affirmation 3

Mmm. Love that one.

There are 40 (yes, 40!) affirmations for each category in my Dream Life Affirmations product – so that’s 120 affirmations, in total.

Wouldn’t you love to have 120 messages like these beamed into your awareness every day, so that you’re consciously and subconsciously creating a beautiful life that you LOVE?

Looking Good, Feeling Good

shakaya1

You’ve probably heard me say this before, but when you feel good, the ‘good stuff’ of life is attracted to you.

And while feeling good is an inside job (with the thoughts you think and with the nutrition you put into your body temple), looking good on the outside helps boosts those inner feel-good vibes.

If you’re ready to look good, and feel good, and therefore ramp up your attracting power, you’ll love the Little Black Dress makeover event, which starts tomorrow.

Little Black Dress

You’ll be guided through three teleclasses with my friend Shakaya Leone, of Earth Empress, who will reveal her seven-day, high-raw ‘Beauty Diet’, as well as a host of tips on how to look stunning for a special occasion.

She has generously shared one of the recipes that will feature in the makeover event – Marshmallow Mango Parfait (that’s it in the pic below). Is your mouth watering yet?! Shakaya really knows how to make sensuous, sumptuous food that tastes amazing and is beautiful for your body and soul.

Marshmellow Mango Parfait

There’s a crazy-low introductory investment in this event, but expect to pay more to join, once the event has started. It begins tomorrow, so click on over and sign up, if this Little Black Dress Makeover event resonates with you.

If you have a special occasion coming up, or you just want to look and feel your very best every day, then you will LOVE this program!

PS I’m a special guest on the second call, and will be helping you to organise your fridge and kitchen – and I’ve provided a wardrobe-decluttering workbook as a bonus when you join the program!

PPS The lady in the black dress in the picture above is Shakaya herself. Yes, this lady walks her talk…

Raw Food on the Run

IFRAME Embed for Youtube

I just want to share something rather special with you.

You may have noticed that the collective vibration of the planet is increasing, and there are more and more healthy-food alternatives cropping up all over the world. Hallelujah, I say!

Eating raw foods helps increase our body’s vibration, yet when we’re out of the house there sometimes aren’t that many options around for eating tasty, pre-made takeaway food. We have to take what’s available (which could be kinda healthy), or bring our own food.

So I love it when I hear of the spread of live-food eateries, it makes me happy!

On Facebook recently I saw a video of health crusader Paul Nison, of the Raw Life Health Show, interviewing a lady who has set up an amazing raw-food take-away venue… underground, in a train station! She sells all sorts of wonderful foods, including salads, burritos, sandwiches, smoothies, juices and sweet treats (tiramisu, anyone?). All RAW! And many customers don’t even know they’re eating raw food when the owner offers them a sample.

Imagine if we had a venue like this in every train station, bus station and airport over the world?

People would have the option to eat ‘on the run’ food with incredible taste and life-giving potential, rather than settle for the less-than-optimal options.

Congratulations to the amazing women who started and run this cafe, which is called RAW period.

If you have a venue like this near you, be sure to give it your support… and perhaps even consider opening your own.

Isn’t this story inspiring?

8 Ways to Actually Receive Your Goals in 2013

For those of us who like things organised into neat, orderly packages, there’s something special about being able to ‘contain’ our goals within the span of a year.

We get excited at the start of a crisp new year when we can say, ‘this year I will…’ or ‘this year I will not…’. And, at the time, we really mean it.

But please raise your hand if you’ve heard the depressing statistics revealing that most people fall off their resolution wagon before the end of January.

Don’t let that happen to you this year.

I’m going to give you eight golden tips that reveal how you CAN receive the goals you set for yourself.

But, you’ll ‘actually’ need to apply the tips! The word ‘actually’ features a lot here — you may already know a lot of these tips, but do you ‘actually’ apply them? (The act of ‘application’ could be the thing that makes all the difference for you this year.)

Here we go…

1. Actually realise that you’re worth it.

To quote Desiderata: ‘You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here’. You really are worthy. Believing this is at the core of your ‘receiving’ success. If self-worth is an issue for you (and it is for many, many people), then ‘actually’ spend time doing inner healing work.

2. Actually write down your goals.

This is a biggie. If you’re a self-development junkie you probably already know the anecdote about the Harvard grads who wrote down their goals being a gazillion times more likely to achieve them than those grads who didn’t write them down.

Writing down your goals takes them a step closer to arriving in material form. It really works. Have courage, and actually do it!

(Check out Jack Canfield’s fab book The Success Principles(TM): How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be for goal-writing tips.)

3. Actually make a commitment and stick to it.

Look, resistance is GOING to show up. Just expect it, face it, thank it and then push on through it. You already know that long-term change is going to be a bit uncomfortable. Or even a lot uncomfortable, for a while. But if you make a commitment and then actually stick to it, come hell or high water, you can’t help but succeed. Cultivating a high ‘EQ’ helps – see Daniel Goleman’s seminal work on this, called Emotional Intelligence: 10th Anniversary Edition; Why It Can Matter More Than IQ.

4. Actually practise extreme self-care.

As advocated by life coach extraordinaire Cheryl Richardson (this concept is also known as ‘exquisite self-care’, the latter being a term coined by Earth Empress Shakaya Leone). If you know you need more rest time, more reflection time, more yoga time, more nutritious food and more healthy boundary-setting, then actually make that happen. Again, you ARE worth it. How are you going to have the energy to take action towards your goals if you’re burned out?

5. Actually keep a gratitude journal.

Please do this. It makes such a difference to your vibration. Be inspired by my blog’s Gratitude Friday (or Saturday, or Sunday) posts, and gently begin to cultivate gratitude as part of your everyday life, in your regular self-talk. When you’re honestly appreciative of all that you have, watch the magic begin — even more ‘good stuff’ (including opportunities to receive your goals) starts to show up.

6. Actually create a vision board.

For many years I was afraid to create a vision board (also known as a dream board – but you can always create a booklet or scrapbook, instead), because I thought I’d feel crushed if I put my dreams out there in my field of vision and they didn’t come true. But I can’t tell you what amazing things happened once I finally got over my fear and actually created my first vision board.

7. Actually measure your progress.

This sounds a bit linear and boring, but it really works. And it can be hugely motivating. I recently gave up all forms of sugar for a period of time (including all fruit, which was a challenge), and every Sunday morning I recorded my weight and body measurements. I didn’t have a particular weight-loss or health goal, because it really was just a curious journey to see what effect sugar had on my body. But measuring results helped keep me on my sugar-free track, and spurred me on when I saw real progress being made. Sure, measuring takes a little discipline, but the payoffs are huge.

8. Actually declutter your home and workspace.

It’s such a relief to declutter even a small area. If clutter is a problem for you, actually make time this month to create headway. Positive energy will soon fill the space, and you really will find that doors will open at every turn when it comes to the other goals you’ve set for yourself. Head here for help, at a limited-time reduced investment.

So, there you have it. Eight golden tips. Will you ‘actually’ apply them? Will you ‘actually’ do what it takes to receive your goals this year? (I think it helps to start thinking of yourself as an ‘implementor’, as someone who just gets on it with it.)

The difference between a person who receives their goals and a person who doesn’t comes down to the simple (but not always easy) act of taking action, even when their resistance is strong.

You are bigger than your resistance, and I know you can do this. I want to hear all about your successes at the end of the year, OK?!

A High-Vibe Christmas Season

If you’ve been a regular Rich Radiant Real reader for a while, you’ll know that I highly recommend eating high-vibration (read: high-raw) foods, so that you raise your own vibration and attract more of life’s good stuff.

While the Christmas season is traditionally a time of ultimate indulgence (yum!), all that rich, sugar- and fat-filled food can leave you feeling less than great. In fact, you probably feel a distinct ‘drop’ in vibration.

There is a solution, you know – why not introduce a few scrumptious healthy festive treats to the table on Christmas Day?

These foods don’t need to totally replace your traditional options, but if they’re there, you and your guests at least have the option of trying a few healthy options, and feeling the better for it!

Have a flip through Dr Ritamarie Loscalzo’s Healthy Holiday Traditions ebook, and you’ll be spoiled for choice. Dr Ritamarie’s done all the hard work of creating fresh, flavour-filled meals and treats that feel celebratory! She also includes fantastic gift ideas, and tips for eating healthily throughout the holiday season.

Check it out here.

It’s not about deprivation. It’s about treating your tastebuds AND keeping your vibration high!

PS Why not try the Gingerbread Cookies or the Chocolate Macadamia-Nut Fudge?

The Raw Food Traveler

I love raw food. I also eat some cooked food, but I love the way raw food makes me feel. Who doesn’t feel better when they eat more raw fruits and vegetables? I mean, really?

What you may not know is just how profound raw food (and yoga, and meditation) can be. It can change your life. Seriously!

Just ask Jimmy Gilker. Jimmy is my web programmer, and he’s been a raw foodist for many years. Before raw food, he didn’t exactly follow the best of eating protocols and he was unhappy with certain aspects of his life. But he was always searching for answers.

When he heard about the raw food way of living, he gave it a try. In a pretty big way. And he combined his raw-food experiment with travel.

I’ve just finished reading Jimmy’s account of his raw food and travelling adventures, in his mighty tome called The Raw Food Traveler (I’ll forgive him the spelling error in ‘traveller’ – tee hee!).

At a whopping 580 pages, Jimmy’s book deeply explores his past, his feelings and his experiments. It reveals his journey of reflection and enlightenment in a frank, often humorous way. If you’ve ever been curious about what a raw food diet (including periods of fasting) can do for a person’s body and soul, you MUST read this book.

I love that Jimmy reveals how he became much more in tune with Spirit, and that his vibration raised higher and higher as his body offloaded years’ worth of toxins. As his vibration increased, he became more attractive to serendipitous events and opportunities, and to receiving and giving love. Life just flowed, and he felt almost indescribably blissful.

As Jimmy says on the back cover:

Ever certain that Peace could be found within, one person is driven to quest. Psychedelic voyages,  human relationships, and spiritual and physical purification lead him to believe that it is, a Truth.

If you have some time over this upcoming Christmas break, I HIGHLY recommend spending a few days with Jimmy’s story, joining him on a songthaew ride to self-acceptance and one-ness.

Head here to find out more about this very personal, inspirational book. What a great Christmas gift for yourself (or for someone you love who’s curious about raw food, travel and enlightenment)…

However, be warned: if you’re at all squeamish about references to sex and drugs and rock’n'roll (and bowel movements), you may want to avoid this book, or at least brace yourself for a wild ride!

With 28 fun recipes like Banana Ghosts, Chocolate Spiders and Blood Punch, the kids will love it! The ebook also contains a vast amount of down-to-earth health information, so that you can feel even better about giving those sugar- and additive-riddled junk Halloween foods the flick.
